A lot of research has been done on trauma and the effects on physical and mental health. There are many theories about which therapy approaches are most effective. Each person is unique and therefore the best approach is one that is tailored to the client.

Trauma can have a huge impact on a person’s wellbeing and can be complex and multi layered. Trauma is also cumulative, which means that a person may have coped well with a number of traumatic situations, but for instance when the cat dies this person feels completely unable to function normally.
